My electrician completed installation, when can I use my chargers?
Once chargers are installed, the installer needs to commission them. A commissioning appointment can be booked by the installer here. We request notice of commissioning 24-48 hours in advance, to ensure our technicians are available.
Once commissioning is completed, our dedicated Customer Onboarding team will work with the site administrator to configure the chargers. This includes setting access policies and fee structures to match the needs of the site.
How can I prevent the general public from using the chargers?
To prevent the general public from being able to access your shared chargers, please select the “private-shared” access policy when completing the configuration form. With this access policy selected, a six (6) digit access code will be set on the chargers. Once the site has been activated, the access code will be provided, which they are then able to provide to drivers at their discretion. Defined SWTCH user accounts can also be configured to allow access to these chargers.
Can I change the access code at my site?
Yes! The site administrator can reach out to customer.success@swtchenergy.com and provide the site address as well as the six (6) digit access code you’d like to use.
Can I change the usage rate?
Yes! The site administrator can reach out to customer.success@swtchenergy.com and provide the site address and updated rate.
What is loitering?
Loitering fees are charges that can be imposed on EV drivers who leave their vehicles connected to the charging station after their vehicle’s battery is fully charged, occupying the charging space, and preventing others from its use. These fees are designed to encourage efficient use of charging stations and ensure that charging spots are available for all relevant EV drivers who need to charge their vehicles. As a site administrator, you can configure and enforce fees based on either time or status.
Time-based loitering begins once a certain amount of time has passed. Drivers will receive a notification letting them know they have to move their vehicle, otherwise they will be charged.
Example: After 4 hours of charging, the driver receives notification stating they have 30 min (grace period) to move their car, otherwise they will be charged $X.
Status-Based loitering begins once a vehicle's battery is fully charged. The driver then receives the same notification stating they have a certain amount of time to move their vehicle otherwise they are charged $X.
How do I manage my chargers and track consumption?
Once your chargers have been activated, you will be provided with steps to create an account in our dashboard, SWTCH OSTM. Through SWTCH OSTM site administrators can track consumption, view transaction history, download reports and much more.
Can my tenants order RFID Cards?
Up to two RFID cards can be ordered FREE through a tenant's driver account on either the website or mobile app.
Can the property order RFID cards?
Bulk RFID card orders can be processed through our sales team. These cards can then be activated on SWTCH accounts at a later date through our support team.
