You can START and STOP a SWTCH charging session via the web app, the mobile app, and RFID card. Please follow the steps below on how to start and stop an electric vehicle charging session on the SWTCH network:
- First, you need to download the SWTCH mobile app and follow the on-screen instructions to sign up, please refer to this article for more details.
- Open the SWTCH mobile app, make sure you are logged in, and type the station ID into the search bar.
Note: Each charger has a unique ID, it should be located on the front face of the charger itself.
- If you want to start a charging session via the website you can visit charge.swtchenergy.com on a mobile or desktop browser.
- Make sure you are logged in then type the station ID into the search bar.
- You can start the charger with an RFID card by tapping your SWTCH Charge Card on the RFID icon on the front of the EV charger.
Note: certain chargers on SWTCH’s network are not equipped with an RFID reader.
HOW TO STOP AN ACTIVE CHARGING SESSION?
- You can simply unplug the charger from your vehicle. Make sure you've pressed the button on the top of the charger head, per the screenshot below, which allows the charging cable to unlatch from the port.
- You can remotely stop a charging session via the SWTCH mobile app. Just make sure you are logged in and press on the active transaction on the main page
- Press the red ‘End Charging’ button and ‘Confirm’.
- You can also remotely stop a charging session with the SWTCH web app.
- Visit charge.swtchenergy.com and make sure are logged in.
- Press on the drop-down menu, represented by three horizontal black lines, at the top right
- Press on the ‘Charging Activity’ option.
- Press ‘View’ on the far right of the active transaction (you may need to scroll right to see ‘View’ on your mobile device).
- Press on the ‘End Charging’ option.
