When you enter the charger ID on the mobile app or the web app, it will show the current status of the charger. This article defines the meaning of the various statuses used on the SWTCH network.
1. In Use
For the following statuses, the charger is currently being used by a customer.
Preparing: A vehicle is plugged in and the charger is awaiting activation from the user or charging has been authorized but the vehicle is not yet connected.
Charging: A vehicle is actively charging.
SuspendedEV: A vehicle has completed charging or stopped charging due to a charging schedule on the vehicle or an issue detected by the vehicle. The charger is offering energy but the vehicle is not taking any energy.
SuspendedEVSE: The EV is connected to the charger but it is not offering energy to the EV. This could be due to a SWTCH Control restriction, local power supply constraints, or if charging is otherwise not authorized.
Finishing: A user has stopped charging remotely, but the vehicle remains plugged in.
2. Available
For the following status, the charger is currently available to be used by a customer.
Available: No vehicle is plugged in, so the charger is available for use. The connector is available for a new user.
3. Unavailable
For the following statuses, the charger is currently not available to be used by a customer.
Offline: The charger is offline due to a power outage or issue with local networking (or it is in a pre-deployment phase). Chargers can also be unavailable if it’s a paired charger and the other connector is in use.
Faulted: The charger has faulted due to, for example a voltage fluctuation (the charger may only stay in this state temporarily while it resets itself).
Unavailable: Chargers can be unavailable if it’s a paired charger and the other connector is currently in use. Chargers can also be unavailable if the charger is outside of it's configured operating hours.
Under Repair: Chargers in the under repair status may be offline, faulted, broken, damaged or vandalized and are currently unavailable to be used by customers. SWTCH will be in contact with the owner of the charging hardware to investigate possible repairs for the unit.
