Having trouble with your SWTCH charging session? Follow this checklist to safely troubleshoot, document, and continue charging.
1. Stay Safe First
Inspect the charger and cable: Check for visible damage, overheating, melting, or frayed wires.
Stop immediately if anything seems unsafe — do not force connections.
Keep your EV unplugged until it’s safe to retry.
2. Confirm Your App / Session Status
Force close and reopen the SWTCH app.
Check the session status: has it started? Is it “Preparing,” “SuspendedEV,” or “Charging”?
If the app is unresponsive, try the web app: SWTCH Web App
If you normally use the RFID charge card, try starting the session with that instead.

3. Check Payment & Wallet
Confirm your payment method is valid and accepted.
If using a wallet, check the balance is sufficient.
If a session fails to start after payment, take note of the transaction and save screenshots.

4. Inspect the Physical Charger
Check the cable and connector for visible issues.
Ensure the charger is powered on and not in a “Under Repair” status.
Look for posted instructions or warnings at the station.
Try a different port at the same location, if available.

5. Try an Alternative Charging Method
Use another SWTCH charger nearby if the current one fails.
Switch to a different charging network if available, especially if urgent.
Use your Charge Card(RFID) for offline session initiation if app connectivity is unreliable.
6. Document the Issue
Take photos of the charger, cable, screen, and any error messages.
Note: charger ID, location, date, time, and session ID.
This information helps SWTCH support troubleshoot or process refunds/reports.

8. Prevent Future Problems
Keep app, phone OS, and firmware up to date.
Avoid charging in areas with weak cellular signal unless using RFID or web app fallback.
