Worried about compatibility when you pull up to a charging station? With SWTCH, you can breathe easy. Our charging network is designed to support every electric vehicle (EV) released in North America, ensuring you can power up no matter what you drive. As long as your vehicle supports the standard connectors for Level 2 or Level 3 (DC Fast) charging, you're good to go.
Universal Compatibility for Peace of Mind
SWTCH chargers are built with universal compatibility in mind. This means that whether you drive a Nissan Leaf, a Ford Mustang Mach-E, a Hyundai Ioniq 5, or any other EV model available in North America, our stations are ready to connect.
Our Level 2 chargers are equipped with the J1772 connector, which is the universal standard for AC charging across all North American EVs (excluding Tesla, which uses its proprietary connector but can adapt).
For Level 3 (DC Fast Chargers), SWTCH stations provide both the CCS (Combined Charging System) and CHAdeMO connectors. These two standards cover the vast majority of DC fast-charge-capable EVs on the road today.
If a charger has multiple connectors, you can use any available connector that matches your vehicle’s port.
A Note for Tesla Drivers
Tesla vehicles typically use Tesla's proprietary charging port. However, charging your Tesla at a SWTCH station is still simple! You will just need a Tesla-to-J1772 adapter for Level 2 charging and a Tesla-to-CCS adapter for DC Fast Charging. Tesla provides these adapters, allowing their vehicles to seamlessly connect to the broader charging infrastructure.
Drive with Confidence
Our commitment to universal compatibility means you'll spend less time searching for the right charger and more time enjoying your electric drive. With SWTCH, you can confidently charge any EV released in North America, knowing our stations are ready for you.
