Requests to modify loitering fee grace period or structure
- The loitering fee can be updated or modified by the property manager or site host at any time through the SWTCH Portal by editing the pricing for the relevant charger(s), including the loitering rate and time limits.
- The loitering fee is only applied when a vehicle remains connected to the charger after it is fully charged and no longer drawing power; it does not begin based on total connection time or charging duration.
- Drivers receive a notification via the app or email before a loitering fee is charged, reminding them that they are overstaying after their vehicle is fully charged.
Inability to adjust loitering fee settings in the portal
- Loitering fee settings, including the rate and time limits, can be reviewed and updated directly in the SWTCH Portal by editing the pricing for the relevant charger(s). If the configuration appears correct but the fee is not being applied, the issue can be escalated to the technical team for review and correction.
- If you are unable to adjust loitering fee settings in the SWTCH Portal, providing the site address and charger IDs allows support to escalate the issue and have the loitering setup reviewed and corrected by the technical team.
Requests for differentiated loitering fee policies (public vs. personal chargers)
- Loitering fee settings can be adjusted or removed for specific chargers or areas, such as residential chargers, without impacting other chargers like those in commercial or public areas. Property managers may request these changes by specifying which chargers should have the loitering fee policy updated.
- To update or remove loitering fees for specific chargers, property managers should provide the charger IDs for the units requiring the policy change. The support team will then initiate the configuration update and confirm once the change is complete.
